I’ve written before that organizations are constantly organizing and reorganizing around mission and strategy; Winebrenner is no different. Last week I shared about Winebrenner’s new Executive Assistant (you can read that announcement by clicking here). Today, I am excited to announce that Dr. Andrew T. Draper will be joining Winebrenner as our Executive Director, beginning March 1, 2024.
Many of you may already be familiar with Andrew due to his relationship with the Churches of God, General Conference and his time at Winebrenner Seminary (he graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2006). For those less familiar, here is a brief introduction:
In addition to his time as a student at Winebrenner, Rev. Dr. Andrew T. Draper is the founding teaching pastor of Urban Light Community Church in Muncie, Indiana. In this role he has been involved in preaching, discipleship, education, and community development. Dr. Draper holds a PhD in theological ethics from the University of Aberdeen in northern Scotland in addition to his MDiv from Winebrenner. He is a sought after speaker and conference presenter and has authored numerous theological books and articles on race, disability, mission, and the church. He has served as visiting theology faculty / director of the Honors Guild at Taylor University and has taught as adjunct theology faculty for Winebrenner Seminary and Anderson School of Theology. Dr. Draper has also served as the president of the Midwest Region of the Churches of God, the president of the Urban Light Community Development Corporation, an officer of the Concerned Clergy of Muncie / Delaware County, and as chair of the Muncie Human Rights Civilian Review Committee. He is currently a member of the national administrative council of the Churches of God and a trustee at the University of Findlay. He is married to Leslie Draper, the founding executive director of Inspire Academy, an urban public charter school, and they have two sons, Aidan and Alister.
