The Mechanicsburg First Church of God, 28 E. Main St Mechanicsburg, PA in Cumberland County, is seeking a part-time pastor. With an average attendance of 35 to 50, the church seeks a pastor who will be available for Sunday morning services at 9 am, administer the ordinances of communion and feet washing and visit the sick/homebound. The pastor will perform baptisms, as necessary, and be willing to worship with a mixed service style (contemporary/traditional). The pastor must have the ability to teach and preach the word of God accurately and with clarity and have a strong and unwavering conviction for the major doctrines and theological teachings. Also, the pastor must be able to cast a Holy Spirit led vision for the church, motivate the body to follow that vision, and be able to discern and train spiritually gifted individuals. The prospective candidate should be licensed, willing to be licensed through the churches of God, ordained or be willing to be ordained through the churches of God. The Associate for Family Ministries will support the God-given Purposes and Vision of SUMC by providing oversight and leadership to family discipleship ministries with a particular emphasis upon children, youth, and adults. Teamwork, collaboration, punctuality, confidentiality
Scheduling, organization, time management, verbal/written communication skills, problem solving
5+ years of prior ministry experience is preferred
Occasional travel required
Ability to take an idea, then initiate, execute, and maintain the assignment
Must be willing to work evenings as needed
