Over the past few weeks we’ve been highlighting what areas we will be emphasizing more heavily in the coming years. I prefer the term strategic “direction” as opposed to strategic “planning” since strategic direction provides more room for flexibility and adjustment. Traditional strategic planning often assumes a stable and predictable environment; we are not making such an assumption moving forward. Therefore, we are using terms such as strategic “priorities” and strategic “direction” as opposed to a more traditional strategic “plan.”
