In my recent post, “Who Are We Becoming?”, I shared several personnel transitions at Winebrenner, including that Dr. Andrew Draper will be stepping out of his Executive Director role in early 2027. These transitions accompany our ongoing work of considering how our people, responsibilities, and resources can best serve our mission of equipping leaders for service in God’s kingdom. Andrew and I have worked together to develop policies, procedures, processes, and an organizational dashboard that have strengthened Winebrenner’s operations. I am grateful for his contributions and ongoing commitment to Winebrenner’s mission.
His transition also invites us to consider how this leadership role should be (re)organized for the work ahead. Pending final budgetary approval, Winebrenner anticipates hiring an Executive Coordinator / Executive Director. The appointment title will reflect the selected candidate’s educational qualifications, as outlined in the position description (click here to read the position description). When I introduced the Executive Director role in 2023, I described a partnership intended to connect mission and strategy with daily implementation. That purpose continues, while the current position reflects changes in how our responsibilities and administrative support are organized.
This person will work directly with me to integrate academics, new student engagement, finance, development, and student support. The work includes translating ideas into practical plans, supporting colleagues, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring that shared commitments lead to action. It requires someone who can attend to daily details while understanding how those details contribute to our larger mission.
Financial leadership will be a significant responsibility. Working with our outsourced financial services providers, this person will provide strategic financial analysis and help align resources with organizational priorities. Candidates must demonstrate the education and/or experience necessary to fulfill the position’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) responsibilities.
We are seeking someone who brings organizational skill, relational maturity, and a commitment to Winebrenner’s mission, values, and Statement of Faith. This person should be comfortable addressing challenges, strengthening team health, and holding colleagues accountable with clarity and care. Our priorities of Stewardship, Discipleship, and Collaboration shape both what we do and how we work together. This role will help connect those commitments to the Seminary’s daily practices.
February 15, 2027, has been identified as a potential starting date, with flexibility to find the right person. As we await final budgetary approval, I welcome conversations with those who may sense an alignment between their gifts and this opportunity. If you or someone you know would like to explore the position, please contact me at brent.sleasman@winebrenner.edu.
Please join us in praying for Andrew during his transition and for Winebrenner as we discern who will help carry this work forward. Our question continues to guide us: In order to participate in what God is doing, who are we becoming?
